In Memory of Erik
With a heavy heart, we are reaching out to our friends and donors to share that Erik our beloved son passed away suddenly Friday morning.
On Tuesday, April 2nd, Erik’s parents checked him out of school early because he developed what seemed to be a very typical case of the stomach bug. Erik returned to school on Thursday after symptoms subsided, but symptoms returned later in the day at school and his parents checked him out again. He was able to eat and drink that afternoon and appeared to improve. However, later in the evening his condition worsened. The parents took him to a local pediatrician’s office, then to the hospital. Unfortunately, by the time Erik arrived at the hospital, his condition became dire, and he passed away early Friday morning. We are so thankful for the care received by all the medical community.
Erik came from a large, loving Christian family who valued faith, family, community, and education for their children. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
The family has no health insurance. They are now facing significant financial challenges, including funeral costs and loss of income as they take time off work to grieve. They have four other children at home and a grandmother to care for.
We are seeking the community's support to raise initial funds of $10,000 to assist the family during this difficult time. The funeral is scheduled for this week at Baptist Church.
