Dear friends, This is heart wrenching to write but I am seeking your support and kindness for my beloved brother, Joseph.
He is 23 years old, 1st year medical student driven by a passion to heal and serve others. He’s recently received the devastating news of being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. On April 6th, his world was turned upside down when he suddenly lost feeling in his legs, causing him to collapse. Scans revealed a malignant mass pressing against his spinal cord. He underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor, but metastatic lesions had already spread throughout his body. Joseph is working with occupational and physical therapy to regain strengths in his legs. Although painful, he remains resilient and optimistic throughout this process. He is currently under going chemotherapy at hospital and is tolerating well. Joseph currently has health insurance through his school but because of his leave of absence his insurance will end so I humbly ask for your generosity and compassion. Your contributions, whether big or small, will ease the burden of medical expenses and provide Joseph with the support he desperately needs. If no contributions can be made, we still appreciate all the prayers and support. Hello Everyone! On behalf of Juan Silva’s family, we are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Juan Silva.
Juan tragically passed away on April 7, 2024, while he was in his apartment in Singapore. Juan untimely passing leaves behind his beloved wife, Beatriz, and their 2.5-month-old daughter. Tragically, he did not have the opportunity to hold his newborn daughter, as his family was planning to visit him in the summer. Juan was not just an accomplished scientist, but also a wonderful person loved by many. He was always cheerful and made everyone around him smile. He treated his friends with kindness, was respectful to his colleagues, and was always ready to help his lab mates. As a husband and father, he was loving and caring, and he cherished spending time with his family. He also deeply respected his parents and was a devoted son. Juan’s positive attitude and kindness touched the hearts of everyone he knew, and his memory will continue to inspire us all. Now, his family and relatives are faced with the heartbreaking task of arranging for his remains to be flown to Brazil to complete the funeral rites. During this difficult time, we are organizing this fundraiser to assist with the costs associated with transporting his remains to Brazil and ensuring that he receives a proper farewell. Your generous contributions will help alleviate the financial burden on Juan’s family during this challenging period of grief and loss.
